Tonia Godhard AM

Tonia Godhard AM is an Early Childhood Consultant. She is a qualified early childhood teacher who has worked in a range of services in Sydney and London. Prior to retirement, she was the Chief Executive Officer of SDN Children’s Services and before this had worked in a senior management role at KU Children’s Services and as an academic training early childhood teachers. Her particular interests include child development, special education, early childhood curriculum, leadership and early childhood policy.

As an advocate for young children she has held a number of positions over the years including National President of Early Childhood Australia, inaugural chair of the National Children’s Services Forum and member of the Board of the National Childcare Accreditation Council.

In addition to her position on the Board of NIFTeY she holds a number of other board positions in not for profit organisations which support or offer services for young children and their families. She has held a number of Ministerial appointments to committees and is currently a member of the NSW Product Safety Committee.

Tonia has received a number of awards in recognition of her work and as an advocate for young children including Member of the Order of Australia (AM), Children’s Week Awards and a Macquarie University Alumni Award.
